Board Certified Virginia Oral SurgeonDr. Charles L. Cuttino grew up in Sumter, South Carolina. He graduated from Clemson University in 1963 and earned his D.D.S. degree from Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia in 1966. Dr. Cuttino then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he continued his Internship at Lackland AFB, Texas. Dr. Cuttino received his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Certification in 1972 from Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia. On July 1, 1972, Dr. Cuttino joined the Practice.
LeadershipDr. Cuttino is an honorary and active member of numerous professional organizations as well as being the past president of the Virginia Dental Association, Richmond Dental Society, Southeastern Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons; the past Chairman of the ADA Council Dental Benefit Programs, the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons Committee on Hospital Affairs & Inter-Professional Affairs; is presently a consultant to the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) and the Commonwealth of Virginia Attorney Generals Office and is a member of the ADA Dental Content Committee. Virginia State Board of DentistryDr. Cuttino is registered and licensed to practice as an Oral & Maxillofacial surgeon in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Community/VolunteerDr. Cuttino donates his skills to the Mission of Mercy program serving Wise County, Virginia and the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Dr. Cuttino also volunteers for Donated Dental Services through the Virginia Dental Association. HonorsDr. Cuttino was honored to be voted Boss of the Year by the Richmond Metropolitan Dental Assistants Association. In 2000, Dr. Cuttino received The State Award of Recognition from the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Dr. Cuttino was also honored with the Harry Lyons Award in 2001 from The Richmond Dental Society. In September 2005, The Virginia Dental Association awarded Dr. Cuttino with the Emanuel W. Michaels Distinguished Dentist Award. This is one of the highest honors the V.D.A. can bestow. Hospital PrivilegesDr. Cuttino currently holds staff appointments at Health South, Henrico Doctors, Johnston Willis/Chippenham, St. Marys, Stony Point Surgery Center, and VCU/Medical College of Virginia where he is a Clinical Professor of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. On a personal noteDr. Cuttino enjoys spending time with his wife, Dr. Anne Adams, a Richmond general dentist, and with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoys the ever-challenging game of golf, going to the beach, photography, and has a special interest in history, particularly the Civil War era.
