Board Certified Virginia Oral Surgeon

Dr. Jeffrey E. Cyr grew up in upstate (Vestal), New York. He graduated from Wake Forest University in 1982 and earned his D.D.S. degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia in 1986. He found his interest in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery while a dental resident at Langley Air Force Base. He received his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Certification in 1993 from the Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia. In 1993, Dr. Cyr started practicing as a solo practitioner at what is presently our Brandermill location. He also maintained a satellite practice in Farmville, Virginia. In 1996 Dr. Cyr merged with our Practice.

Dr. Jeffrey E. Cyr is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, certified since 1995.

Leadership

Dr. Cyr is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, Richmond Dental Society, Virginia Dental Association, Virginia Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, and is co-founder & treasurer of the Midlothian Study Club and is an active member of the Southside Study Club and the Commonwealth Oral + Facial Surgery Implant Study Club. Dr. Cyr is honored to be a part-time Assistant Professor at the Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia and enjoys the teaching opportunities that this provides.

Virginia State Board of Dentistry

Dr. Cyr is registered and licensed to practice as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Community/Volunteer

Dr. Cyr donates his skills through the VDA Donated Dental Service program, Crossover Clinic Dental Services and The Commonwealth Clinic. Dr. Cyr has also donated his professional skills to the Jamaica Mission Trip which is sponsored by Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia.

Honors

Dr. Cyr is a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. He was awarded the A.D. Williams Research Grant in 1991

Dr. Cyr currently holds staff appointments at Henrico Doctors, St. Mary’s, Chippenham/Johnston Willis, Stony Point Surgery Center, and the Medical College of Virginia.

On a personal note

Dr. Cyr enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, exercising, traveling, and watching Wake Forest basketball, "Go Deacons!"
