Meet UsJeffrey E. Cyr, D.D.S. | |||||

Board Certified Virginia Oral SurgeonDr. Jeffrey E. Cyr grew up in upstate (Vestal), New York. He graduated from Wake Forest University in 1982 and earned his D.D.S. degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia in 1986. He found his interest in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery while a dental resident at Langley Air Force Base. He received his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Certification in 1993 from the Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia. In 1993, Dr. Cyr started practicing as a solo practitioner in the Brandermill area, a mile east of our current location. He also maintained a satellite practice in Farmville, Virginia. In 1996 Dr. Cyr merged with our Practice.
LeadershipDr. Cyr is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, Richmond Dental Society, Virginia Dental Association, Virginia Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, and is co-founder & treasurer of the Midlothian Study Club and is an active member of the Southside Study Club and the Commonwealth Oral + Facial Surgery Implant Study Club. Dr. Cyr is honored to be a part-time Assistant Professor at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry and enjoys the teaching opportunities that this provides. Virginia State Board of DentistryDr. Cyr is registered and licensed to practice as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Community/VolunteerDr. Cyr donates his skills through the VDA Donated Dental Service program, Crossover Clinic Dental Services and The Commonwealth Clinic. Dr. Cyr has also donated his professional skills to the Jamaica Mission Trip which is sponsored by Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia. HonorsDr. Cyr is a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. He was awarded the A.D. Williams Research Grant in 1991. In 2011, Dr. Cyr was voted a "Top Dentist" by his peers in the category of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in Virginia Living Magazine. On a personal noteDr. Cyr enjoys recreating and relaxing at Lake Gaston with his family and friends, playing golf, exercising, and watching Wake Forest Sports and VCU Basketball. Favorite Quote: “You never get something for nothing” Fun Fact about Dr. Cyr: "I learned to wakeboard at the age of 50, and it's a blast!!" |
