|
Board Certified Virginia Oral SurgeonDr. Thomas A. Eschenroeder grew up in Kirkwood, Missouri. He graduated from St. Lawrence University in 1978 and earned his D.D.S. degree from the University of Missouri in 1985. In 1989, Dr. Eschenroeder received his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Certification from Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia. In 1992 he merged with our Practice.
LeadershipDr. Eschenroeder is an honorary member of numerous professional organizations, including the Richmond Dental Society, The McKee Study Club, The Commonwealth Oral and Facial Surgery Study Club and the Midlothian Study Club. Dr. Eschenroeder is also a member of the Virginia Dental Association and the Virginia Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. In the field of implantology, Dr. Eschenroeder is a member of the Academy of Osseointegration. Dr. Eschenroeder has been a certified ACLS instructor. He also participates with the education of the oral surgery residents at VCU/MCV. Dr. Eschenroeder is also active at St. Michaels Episcopal Church in Bon Air, Virginia, where he has served as Senior Warden, has devoted several years to the church choir, and he is currently the Chairman of their Capital Campaign. Virginia State Board of DentistryDr. Eschenroeder is registered and licensed to practice as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. Community/VolunteerDr. Eschenroeder has donated his skills to the Mission of Mercy (MOM) foundation by serving as an oral surgeon at the Eastern Shore Mission Trip. He has also traveled with the American Cancer Society to participate with oral health care screening clinics. His oral surgery donated services are made available through the VDA Donated Dental service organization. HonorsDr. Eschenroeder was honored to receive an award for the highest GPA in his graduating dental school class. He is a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. He served as class president in his dental school years and received the Pediatric Dentistry Award at the University of Missouri, Kansas City Dental School. Hospital PrivilegesDr. Eschenroeder currently holds staff appointments at Henrico Doctors, St. Marys, Chippenham/Johnston Willis, Childrens Hospital, and Stony Point Surgery Center. Dr. Eschenroeder is also an adjunct faculty & staff member at the Virginia Commonwealth University, Medical College of Virginia. Interests/HobbiesDr. Eschenroeder is devoted to his wife Susan and their three children. His hobbies include photography and music. He enjoys family time and whenever possible he pursues outdoor activities including back country fishing and camping trips out West. Favorite Book: Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry Favorite Quote: Soli Deo Gloria, this is the quote that J.S. Bach put on all of his compositions. It means All the glory to God; or put another way, I am just the gardener, its God who makes the flowers grow.
