1. Do not eat or drink anything for six (6) hours prior to surgery.

2. You must be accompanied by a responsible adult who must remain in the office during the entire procedure.

3. After driving you home, it is suggested that a responsible adult remain with you the rest of the day.

4. You cannot drive yourself if you have taken preoperative sedatives or if you have received IV anesthesia.

5. Wear loose-fitting clothing so that we can easily place blood pressure cuff, EKG leads, and other monitoring devices. (Short sleeve shirts are helpful.)

6. Check with your doctor about how many days of recuperation you might need following surgery.

7. Please ask your doctor for specific instructions regarding any medication that you are currently taking. If you take medication on a daily basis, please ask your doctor about how to take it on the day of surgery.
